This engagement session started where modern love meets timeless architecture—a Detroit Book Tower engagement session that felt equal parts editorial and effortless. With its marble floors, ornate gold elevators, and iconic second-story windows, this venue set the tone for an elegant and elevated downtown Detroit shoot.
We kicked off the session with a round of bar-inspired portraits, letting the couple relax into the moment. Then, we explored the sweeping marble staircase and architectural details of the second floor. Book Tower’s stunning blend of old-world charm and modern luxury makes it one of my favorite engagement session spots in Detroit.
A short stroll down the street brought us to the unmistakable green façade of the Gucci store—clean, bold, and a perfect contrast to the soft romantic energy of the couple. We continued the walk to the Shinola Hotel, where we tucked under the striped overhang for a handful of shots that played with shadow, texture, and symmetry. We even paused for a quick lunch—because sessions should feel like a date, not a production.
After downtown, we made our way to Grosse Pointe Yacht Club for wind-swept dockside photos and a few intimate indoor captures. The water brought a calm, breezy energy that perfectly balanced the urban start to the day.
We ended at Lochmoor Golf Club with golden-hour light, a few playful golf shots (personal to the groom), and a relaxed wrap-up to an unforgettable engagement session that blended luxe Detroit style with meaningful locations.
If you’re planning a Detroit wedding and love the idea of incorporating iconic architecture like Book Tower into your engagement photos, I’d love to hear more about your plans. Whether you’re dreaming of a classic or modern twist, a Detroit Book Tower engagement session offers a one-of-a-kind backdrop to tell your story.
